This was to be expected: Pakistani websites are blaming Mossad for the Mumbai attacks.
Russians have a small aphorism which makes fun of pathological Jew-haters which see "the Jews" as always responsible for everything:

Seriously, it could have been Mossad, I am not saying it ain't so, but let's wait to get some facts before jumping to the usual knee jerk conclusions...

@Shashank: depends who you mean by "they". I don't see anything which the Israelis would gain from this. But the Pakistanis? By blaming the Israelis they get to cover their collective Wahabi butts and put the blame somewhere else.
One could, of course, argue that since Pakistan is the single most dangerous country currently out there the Israelis would get a more determined ally in India for an anti-Pakistani policy...

As for why the Pak news agencies want to put the blame on Israel you are spot on. They (Pak politicians and army) *might* want to be held responsible for India's retaliation I guess.
While I consider the Pakistani ISI and Al Qaeda as a prime suspects in the Mumbai operation and I can see why Pakistan would want to divert attention away from Pakistan elsewhere; I still think that there are other possible behind the scenes suspects that should not yet be ruled out.
I have in the past read reports on the internet claiming that the ISI had a hand in the U.S.'s 9/11. And I have also read reports on the internet that the Mossad had a hand in the U.S. 9/11. Mossad supposedly did warn the U.S. about an impending attack on the U.S. before 9/11 took place and there is still the question of the alleged Israel art students found taping the event.

Even though the evidence for the Mumbai attacks is pointing to forces in Pakistan, I still think the Mossad should be considered as a possible behind the scenes suspect due to what I would call the benefit factor, as Israel, being heavily into and even thriving from the counter terrorism business, has been all along benefiting in many ways from this so-called War on Terrorism. Israeli groups in the U.S. such as so-called "Honest Reporting" have been pushing hard for every violent act allegedly perpetrated by Muslims to be labeled as terrorism, including every operation by legitimate national Islamic resistance groups like Hezbollah and Hamas that have been challenging their hegemony, their ongoing occupations, and their own acts of terrorism against Palestinians and Arabs.
Another reason I suppose that I continue to suspect possible behind the scenes connections in many of these attacks in this so-called War on Terrorism is that I have a hard time accepting the double standard American policies which make no sense to me unless you want to expand the "War on Terrorism" rather than actually find and develop a foreign policy that would be more productive in putting an end to it.
Saudi Arabia, the Wahabi stronghold, has continued to be a U.S. ally after 9/11 and throughout the "War on Terrorism" despite the fact that the world knows that Al Qaeda has been funded by people in Saudi and the Gulf region, and that many Saudis have been implicated in the terror attacks in the U.S. and in Iraq. Yet the attention in this "War on Terrorism" has been directed more towards Syria, Iran, Hezbollah, and Hamas. Why such blatant double standards? And I find it equally strange that even Pakistan has been considered to be an ally in this so-called War on Terrorism while everyone knows that the Al Qaeda stronghold appears to be in Pakistan, while the U.S.'s greatest ally in the region, Israel, whose relations with both Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are murky.
Also the timing of these attacks came just as the siege on Gaza by Israel has intensified, which may just be coincidental but it did effectively take any real focus off from the Israeli siege on Gaza and put it on Mumbai......
